So I am going to Rollins in the fall and now I am starting to have some doubts. I am not sure if I made the right choice because I keep hearing about Rollins being a school for rich kids with drug problems. I am not really interested in this type of student body. So, I wanted to hear from current students and parents of current student. I wanted to know if this rumor is really what Rollins is all about or is it just a rumor. Thanks!

I think that’s an overblown stereotype, having just returned from summer O … mix of great kids and parents from varying backgrounds, including hardworking kids only able to attend because of their scholarship awards. Be sure to join the class of 2018 FB page to check out your classmates. My kid ultimately found a roommate who is a great match in terms of study (#1), social (fun but no substances), sleep habits and extracurricular interests. Like any college, there will be some over entitled pompous asses who are going to go nuts partying and wash out the first year… But Rollins has so many opportunities and supports in academics, athletics, service, social and other extracurriculars that you will surely find your niche. Keep your values intact and you will excel.

Rollins is a Rich Kids School. There is lots of drinking and drug use just like any other college. The school is aware of the problem. They will have RA patrolling the dorms looking for drinking and drugs.
This school is near Orlando. There are numerous night clubs minutes away from school and lot of distractions. So, you need to be realistic about how you are going to deal with it.
