Rollins MBA?

Hi

I am from India and have applied to a few US schools. Currently I am pursuing the IB Diploma. While I am waiting for my other RDs to come out, I’ve received an offer from Rollins- 3/2 accelerated program- by which I will complete my undergrad in 3 years and as long as my GPA is above 3.2 and GMAT above 600, I will automatically be enrolled in Crummer for their MBA program.

I am however not too sure of the worth of a Rollins MBA. Is it well recognised throughout the States by employers? I will NEED to start working once I complete my MBA. Dad’s ex-colleagues in Florida praise Rollins but I want more opinions.

Thanks!

Ansh

There are very sound reasons ALL of the frist-tier US MBA programs (perhaps, international, too?) require two (or more) years of post-Bachelor’s work experience prior to matriculation: the student is far better able to assimilate in- and beyond-classroom learning AND s/he is also far better able to participate/enhance the learning of classmates. These are critical educational underpinnings. One certainly can earn an MBA program at many reputable universities directly from undergraduate school (and a 3/2 concept save a year’s time and costs). However, the enduring value of all MBA degrees is simply not equal. It is extremely instructive that none of the best programs sanction this “straight from undergraduate school” approach. It is also noteworthy that many of the most desirable post-MBA jobs/careers (i-Banking, top consulting, high technology (more than IT) programmatic leadership, etc.) are not generally available to MBAs from other than a handful of distinguished programs (firms simply do not recruit at other than probably <12 top universities).

Thanks for your reply. Rollins, if I recall, is in the top 50 for MBA- of course, not the greatest. Would like an opportunity to see if I can attain something higher. But of course, it is a hard decision.

Any other inputs welcome.
