Romanian thread

hey everyone!
hello hp_oana!
i got into mt holyoke too, and i'm very happy with the financial aid too! did they send you the acceptance letter yet? still waiting on that...

Dear babyshambles...i lived for three months at Caltech and it's not that bad. I met a lot of interesting people . The campus is really beautiful. And the Romanians who study there are some of the nicest persons I have ever met :) Not to mention the fact that you can get involved in some very good research programs and get paid during the summer ;)

Hi Everyone, I know I am probably intruding, but I am writing a paper on Romania for my AP Comparative Government class, and it would be nice to here your input on: 1) Political Culture/Ideology 2) Major Social Cleavages 3)The Role of Women in Society

PM me if you are interested!

Sorry beershambles for misspelling your name :)

got into bowdoin

congratulations!:)

waitlisted at Amherst
got into Johns Hopkins

Well done Quagmire!
Getting in at JHU is huge! Fecilitations :)

indeed... Congratulations!
what aid package did you receive?

oh, and congrats for everyone else (including buddyshambles :) )

They gave me 55K, which is exactly what I needed :P. These guys are pretty expensive: almost 57K per year.

kudos for quagmire.. hip hip (john hopkins is good)

55K! My Goodness! They must really like you. :P

do colleges that accept you also ask for a final report? do they ask for "bacalaureat" grades?

Well, I think those grades are important to a certain extent. The Common App International Supplement asks for predicted scores, doesn't it? It seems only natural that the admission office is going to compare the actual scores with the predicted ones. Nevertheless, i don't think a bad score in Romanian will get your admission decision rescinded. :P
Correct me if I'm wrong.

they want your final grades for sure. some colleges also need the bacalaureat grades because those might save you some credits and place you into higher level classes.

idwtk444: well, if your grades are significantly lower than the predicted grades - even in Romanian - they might see it as a sign of "senioritis" ...

spitfire20: I don't think that applies to bacalaureat....?

Quagmire88: where are you from?

I know somebody who got credits based on the grades from the bac

ph1.89: congrats for your admission to Stanford :D. What aid package did you receive? I'm from Galati.

Wow, ph1.89 you got into Stanford and didn't say a word?
Congratulations dude! Well done! Can't say you didn't deserve it... :)

wow, congrats everyone :) i am happy to hear of romanians being admitted :)on the same line, i got in at vassar :D:D:D
