Room and Board question

The expenses for room and board are almost $11,000. Can any current student/parent of student answer whether students usually find an apartment after the first year to save money? Do you take a meal plan while living in an apartment or what?

You have to have a minimal meal plan living off campus…my daughter is a graduating senior and previous to her year, it was a requirement to live on campus freshman and sophomore year.

It still is a requirement for freshman and sophomores to live on campus–unless you are living with a relative in the area.

Yes, many kids move off campus Junior and Senior year. I never did - I am very happy on campus. If you move, you will save a good chunk of cash. There are tons of options for living off campus. Most of these are old homes split into single bedroom units. Most are pretty nasty and old, but cheaper than on campus.
