Room assigments??

Hello;

I'm a transfer student (with what should be junior standing, but after looking at my DARs, a lot of my credits didn't transfer over until after I attended academic advising in June, so it may appear that I only have sophomore standing) that will be attending in the fall. When I filled out my housing contract, instead of picking LLCs, I was able to input my top three preferences that were: Hepburn Hall, Hahne Hall, and Flower Hall (the suites).

The contract was submitted on April 28th, I think (but I submitted a revision because one of the dorms I put in was males only--oops.).

Does anyone know the likelihood that I'll be placed into one of these? I very much want a suite with individual bathrooms as opposed to the communal ones. How popular are these? Are they likely to go fast when current students make their selections? And I read that for the last two years, Miami has been having difficult placing everyone right and way and some people get placed into the lower floors of the res halls. Is this an issue for the 2011-2012 year as well?

Anyone…?

I am a current sophomore at Miami. I have never heard of anyone having this problem, and most people I know who put in a room request eventually get it. The dorms you listed actually aren’t that popular because they are on the further ends of campus. There really isn’t a “lower level” in Miami’s dorms - they are only 3 stories high, at most.

If not, the communal bathrooms are really fine!! They are great compared to other universities, cleaned daily, and only used by your small corridor. Either way you will love where you live.

Hope this helps!
