<p>I haven't registered yet, have most people already registered? Do the 70 questions on the survey require paragraph answers or is it like yes/no?</p>
<p>ivyguy the most time consuming part of the survey (for me) was picking courses...for example I had to pick all of my seminars and stuff first...then I had to select a preferred calc sequence and course....then I had to pick 6 courses of my choosing in order of preference (being careful to look at my prospective major(s) and minor(s) for any requirements and stuff). Everything is repeated or linked to that was on the "to-do" list that you need to know. You can save your progress and continue later so you might as well check it out asap and finish the simple stuff. Again you'll probably spend the most time reading course descriptions and stuff if you haven't already. The only real writing I remember doing was when I stated any prospective majors and interests..could have been other stuff though.</p>

<p>Well, after reading this thread I decided to go and see where I'd been placed. Lo and behold, I'm going to be in a Standard Double at Hamerschlag.</p>
<p>I had applied for Prime Doubles only (and for dorms other than the 'schlag), so I guess there must be some sort of housing crunch at CMU right now. </p>
<p>Oh well, at least I know what it's like from Sleeping Bag Weekend... ...trapezoidal.</p>
<p>CMU doesn't have extra housing just laying around; at the beginning of the year some students don't even have dorms. As a result, if you send in your deposit late (which is a relative thing), especially if you're a male, you'll end up in housing you don't want that much.</p>
<p>There are very few prime doubles in freshman only areas, so freshmen almost always get standard doubles. You'll survive the 'schlag. Last year they had a Sausage Fest to raise money for Katrina victims.</p>
<p>I sent in my deposit at the very beginning of the last week, and got Hamerschlag (requested Co-ed only, and none of my choices were Hamerschlag). So it's not looking good for the TBA people who sent in their deposits during the final week.</p>

<p>Morewood and New House I believe are the most popular choices in general. Both dorms are in the center of campus, making them a good area to reside in, and they both are just nice. New House is cleaner looking because its... newer. It also has air conditioning... but Morewood I think is better due to the larger room size ^_^ But, the people who were solely looking for a large dorm room went directly toward Mudge. Mudge was apparently a mansion before... I dunno how it works, all I know is Mudge has bigger dorm rooms than New house.</p>
<p>i guess every dorm has bigger rooms than new house!!....being an intel the only issue i have is that where the hell will i keep my big suitcase in the new house double!!...</p>
<p>Ahh.. dexter87, I'm guessing you're going to be in New House as well? So will I! Maybe we'll be dorm mates? Scary thought.. I mean, scary for you.. haha just kidding.</p>
