On Department of Resident Life at The University of Maryland, College Park

Anyone else get one of these?

You have not yet been assigned for this housing term. We will often delay the assignments of some students in order to see if additional spaces will open up in halls that might be more preferable to them and their class standing (for example, returning residents in suites and apartments with upper-class students, and new first-year students in traditional halls in North Hill and North Campus). We make every effort to finalize assignments as soon as possible. Click here for further information.

When did you send in your enrollment deposit?

Aug 12. I realize that's in tthe future lol

I wasn't assigned housing either and I submitted my stuff on April 12th.

I'm a freshman and I was assigned to a triple on the fourth floor of Anne Arundel. I was wondering if anybody could tell from the floor layout whether my room is a forced triple or was built specifically for 3 people.

Thanks here is the link scroll to floor 4

anne_arundel Floor 1

Oh wait enrollment deposit. I sent that in on the final confirmation day.

The system shows the same message as uahmed on mine...
I'm in an A/C hall, so they'll put me in the best available apartment/suite :p That explains the delay...

terps2008, are you Male or Female? (It seems that the girls have the most trouble with fitting their stuff into a triple). D was in a triple (intended for 3) in Denton last year.....even then, there were only 2 closets....they were side by side, however, so each roomie got a third). Although it may be a bit tougher to meet people at the very beginning, since you won't be amidst all freshmen, it won't take long until you meet up with people you like to be with, even if it is via meeting at dinner, or in one of your classes. And, you get a rebate on the room charge for being in a triple!!!

You'll probably be happy next year that you were placed in Anne Arundel this year.....you'll get priority room selection before all the other people in Ellicott and Denton who want to move over to your dorm!!! That was certainly the case for D.....none of her friends were able to get in there for sophomore year, and several of them tried.

D will be at St. Mary's (Language House) this year. She's thrilled for many reasons having to do with being part of the language house, but she is SO glad to be so close to her classes and across from Stamp.

astrophysicsmom,

I'm male. Thanks for the reply. Were you able to tell from the link whether it was forced or an intended triple by any chance?

err I'm in a triple >_<

ugh i got that message too. i sent in my deposit like 3 days before the deadline.

my friend who originally got spring semester was "upgraded" in june to fall semester and even she got her room assignment already. plus, she only has one roommate. if i end up in a triple or quad, i'll be so mad at her haha

terps2008 is it 1106? That looks like a planned triple to me, if you compare it to some of the rooms on the higher floors. just a guess, however.

My assignment is still pending :(

Btw all of you who got into triples, did you guys apply after the 1st of May?
Because I was told that I will not be put into a triple because I sent in the deposit before May 1st. They told me this in April!

I don't know about this year, but last year D was assigned a triple....her deposit reached them on May 1 (still waiting for that one last decision to arrive in the mail). Both her roommates were in the same boat.

Anne Arundel rooms are pretty big. A guy in a forced triple there would be fine. There are a few rooms in there intended to be triples though, so you may have one of those.

My room assignment is still not posted, but they changed my room preference from 'Apartment/Suite' to 'Suite' :)

I;m happy!

I have an assigned room, but no roommate....does anyone know if I will get one soon as they are filling in the rooms with currently unassigned people? I highly doubt a school with so many students can afford to leave a double with only 1 student in it....

haha...maybe terps2008 can move in with you!

Assignment still pending!
