Everyone happy with their pick?

My daughter is really happy…she was assigned to Horton! Newer building, 2 room suite instead of 4. With girls…less sharing a bathroom the better ;)

My Ds in Ehringhaus. Seems pleased it wasn’t her last choice. Looks like it was updated last year so that’s a plus. Eight girl suite with one bath. Fun!

Freshmen dont get to pick their dorms or room mates?

First years get to rank preference for dorms and can specify a roommate.

I picked a room on the second floor of Stacy (apparently transfers could do this) because my brother lives there, and I haven’t been assigned a roommate. I don’t want to be alone ;_;

I’m a transfer, and I haven’t been assigned yet…

I got placed in Hinton James which I didn’t even rank at all; my roommate and I really wanted a dorm on North Campus. I see on the Facebook groups so many people complaining about being on North Campus because they didn’t rank those residence halls at all… I’ve accepted that I’m living in the southernmost hall (because it’s getting renovated and I’ll avoid the Freshman 15), but I think UNC’s housing assignment system needs a fix from the random order than they go in to assign dorms.

I have a couple of friends at UNC who have dorms to themselves and they love it so much haha-- you’re lucky; if you don’t find a roommate don’t feel like you’re alone or less fortunate as the people who do have roommates miss their alone time.
