It's actually not all that bad. It has many of the same in-house perks large dorms like West and Warren have, but I'll be a sophomore this year and with only those three options to choose from I didn't wanna live in Warren or West so I was stuck with Towers. But yeah as a freshman I wouldn't have wanted to live there either.

warren A tower :)

is it possible to appeal a housing assignment?

DJglover - which dorm was your first choice?

I'll be a sophomore this year and room selection doesn't work the same as with freshman. You are randomly assigned a lottery number. Seniors choose first followed by juniors and then sophomores. You basically go to this appointment that is designated by your lottery number and you look at a computer screen and it tells you what residencies have rooms available. By the time most sophomores, myself included, had our selection meetings this past spring the only available residencies with vacancies were Towers Warren and West. Naturally as a sophomore I chose Towers because mostly freshman live in Warren and West. So yeah my point was that you don't choose a list of your top residence choices like freshman year. Instead, you literally pick your exact room in the exact residence that is available and you leave your selection appointment already knowing where you will be living the following year.

I see. Well I want Towers for soph year. I just hope I dont grt a terrible number and end up having to choose between Warren and West!

Anyone else here have their room assignments posted but without a link to see their roommate? I'm trying to figure out if that means I don't have one, or if it's a bug in the system.

rambo - same tower!

how does that work with roommates? do you get to keep the same roommate for all 4 years if you want to? what if you have a good lottery number but your roommate doesn't? or do you get a random roommate again?

After freshmen year you can pick whoever you want as your roommate. If you have a good number, but your future roommate doesn't, you "pull them in" by bringing them to your housing meeting. Then they'll show you rooms that have 2 open spaces in them.

what room?

i'm 1305A

this is probably a stupid question but im in room 0718 in west, rich hall. does that i mean that im on the first floor?

7th floor.

so does anyone know if it is possible to request to have an assignment changed? I picked Warren as my first choice and for some reason ended up with West.

Well, you can't always get your first choice. I haven't gotten any room assignment yet. =/

You won't have any luck calling or bothering office of housing as they aren't gonna just change your assignment. Every room in Warren has been assigned and so has every room in West. Your best bet would be to try and work out a swap with someone meaning you find someone who agrees to completely swap rooms with you. In your case, you'd have to find someone in Warren who wants to be in West and you fill out some paperwork and just swap that way. This is easily done if you're really up to it. Browse around the facebook groups and find some kid who wants to switch.

17th floor. i sometimes wish i was on the lower floors like you

anybody know about this new housing at the Hyatt Regency?
I'm transferring in and I don't know if it's a good idea to stay there or just go off-campus. The Hyatt is the only on-campus housing (so they call it) they are giving me.

Did you guys get e-mails when you're housing was ready or something? I haven't heard anything and keep checking my account. =/

are you checking in studentlink?
