Room change spring semester

Background: I had a pretty bad experience with my roommate in East Halls. A lot of negative stuff happened between us in the first two weeks of school. I switched between buildings in East Halls last weekend because my roommate left drugs and alcohol in plain sight in our room; for a safety precaution and personal reasons, I had to move.

I was told by a building coordinator that a room will likely be opening up in Runkle Hall (North Halls) next semester. I wanted to know the living experience in North. Also, is it worth switching rooms a third time this year?

stealthx - I am so sorry you had such a horrible experience -but good for you on getting out before it got worse! I can’t offer advice on North Halls or switching again - but I do wish you a much happier dorm experience wherever you are!

stealthx I sent you a pm.

North can be kind of lonely, especially as a freshman, since everyone is kind of isolated in those suites. Sorry about your first roommate, and you probably did the right thing switching. But see how your first semester with a new roommate and floor work out. If you get along well with the people in your new dorm, it’s probably not worth it to move. You always have the opportunity to try for North next year if you really want it.

Thanks everyone.

I don’t think I’ll mind the isolation. East is crazy all hours of the day, especially since I don’t drink or party.
