I'm pretty sure that this is untrue, but do MALO's check your room during your interview just to see what kind of person you are? Obviously I'm gonna clean up just out of common courtesy for a guest to my house, but do West Point Liason Officers really size you up by what posters you have on your wall or how tidy your room is? Probably just paranoia on my mom's part.

I think she's being a little paranoid.... Unless you have posters of topless women or piles of dirty laundry everywhere, I wouldn't worry :)

....Especially since you aren't always interviewed at home. My MALO talked to me at school during my lunch break.

Wow! That's a great line your mom has. Will have to try it out on my D to see if I can get her to clean her room. ;)

The guy who interviewed me came to my house one night, wrote down some stuff, and left. He saw very little of my house, and never went close to my room

The MALO came to our house and checked my son's room on two different occassions. One was announced and the other was a surprise visit. He looked under my son's bed and in the bottom of his closet, finding a dirty sock stuffed in an old boot. Making copius notes he also reviewed all of my sons cds (he was very disappointed to find the Dixie Chicks latest cd) and ran a scan on the hard drive of his computer for web sites that might not be appropriate for a new cadet. He left after stopping by my son's bathroom and checking the wear and tear on his toothbrush...

Just kidding, but as a parent it might have been a good idea. The MALO was nice and helpful. He never saw my son's bedroom. Thank god!

FWDAD,

You really had me going for a sec. It's my day to be gullible.

How nice a year we would have if all the kids thought MALO's could conduct an ad hoc room check anytime during their senior year. ;)

MOT:
Some new cadets are gonna wish they had practiced with a few more "MOM" inspections when they get to the academy.........:)

shogun,

All the young grasshoppers will learn - very quickly.
