hii i am currently in dilemma. We need to make our housing decision very soon, and i don't know whether i should live with my good friend(she really wants to dorm with me), or just pick random roommate. I heard that it's better not to dorm with your good friends, and those reasons do make sense to me. However, I am also worried about getting a "bad" roommate if i do random, cuz that's what happen to one of my friend(she and her roommate HATE each other)

Can someone please tell me what I should do? or share your experiences~~

thx alot!!

um, personally, i wouldn't want to dorm with someone i know because then you will jsut end up hanging out with each other all the time. But, i see where you coming from, what happens if you get a bad roomate.. thats tough cuz that can happen. i don't know honestly. for me, me and my best friend got into a fight and haven't talked for a yr and now we are going to the same school .. we were gonna dorm. but not any more. so right now, i am just gonna dorm with random person..

it's fine to room with someone you know.

Just make sure you hang out with your hall as well as each other so you meet more people.

heyy candace that's what people tell me about rooming with your best friend, someone even said that "if you want to lose your friend, then dorm with her".. haha thx alot for sharing your experience:)

Shoefactory: thx for reminding me about hanging out w/ my hall, it's really important too!!!~ Thx for the info:) i appreciate~

I think i'll just do random and start praying for getting a good roommate :)

I still think it's fine to room with a friend. Lots of roommate assignments end up putting two incompatible people together.

Friends that room together don't really HATE each other, they just find new and different cliques. I know friends that DO room together and still are very good friends.

I'm going to room with my best friend. I really think that we will be fine. I have five classes with her this year, we are always at rehearsal together and we practically live together already. I don't see a problem with rooming with a friend.
