<p>Did you do the randomized room mate through UT, or did you do the profiler? How did that work out for you? And at about what time this year should I contact a potential room mate?</p>

<p>You will know absolutely sure who your roommate is when you get your room assignment from UT. It will happen after July 1. </p>
<p>But even in July UT Housing sometimes re-assigns rooms and roommates because people can change their mind at the very last moment and decide not to go to UT or not to live on campus. Sometimes because of financial reasons, sometimes because they were accepted to another college where they were previously waitlisted and forgot to inform UT in timely manner.</p>
