So my son had 11am appointment this morning for room assignment (appointment email was received Tuesday the 7th). He was contract confirmed back in December, so I was expecting a good range of selections for a single room (including the “converted singles” as a result of COVID-19). But it turned out very well, as there were a couple of rooms available in Lake Claire. He grabbed one and the other one disappeared. So he is very pleased with his results. My advise is simply to jump in within a few seconds of your appointment time for best selection. Do your research in advance for your top choices and fallback choices. The map.ucf.edu is an excellent interactive map for checking out distances and proximity to food, buildings (he still has a lab in CompSci bldg for Fall). parking. I teased him of course about the proximity of Lake Claire to the sororities.
Your other post about today’s appointment was in was in the MOVE-IN schedule thread. Was this appointment just for room selection…NOT move-in?
Three things are critical – location, location, and location!
Glad he got what he wanted! That’s a private bedroom, shared bathroom setup, right?
Just room selection
OK, thanks. I misunderstood and got all excited, lol!
Yes; Lake Claire are apartment-style, with four individual rooms, one person per room, with two toilets/showers (and two sink vanity shared by the suite) plus kitchen (stove, refrigerator) and living room.
Nice. And the sorority girls will be beating down his door!
