Can someone who has gone through please explain this process? let's say I want to have a double room in a residential plaza, then what will i see in the housing offer in February when a priority number is assigned to me? Can I pick the plaza (or a hall) and the room that I want ( subject to avaibality of course) during my sign up time?

is it better to sign up asap?

Yes, put the $30 down now and you have a while to edit your app (don’t know how long, but several months). I think they go by first come, first serve when signing up for housing so you definitely want to enter now.

Basically, you sign up now and later when everyone’s signed up they’ll send you a sign up date. You then pick the exact room (they’ll have floor plans) that you want in any of the on campus housing buildings. If you mutually choose roommates (meaning both or all 3 of you request each other) and the same room, you have a very high chance of getting that room. If you’re going for random roommates and pick a specific room, they might move you (happened to my friend, but he was put in the same building).

I think they have quite a bit of info on it on the housing website. The email should have linked you there :P
