I wanted to be able to clean my own bathroom, but I got East Quad so that won’t be happening. Oh well. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

The dorms that most freshmen live in at Eastern, the college I am familiar with, are 11x11 and I thought they were quite roomy. (Before that I’d seen a double at MSU and thought my cousin would suffocate in it, it was that tiny!) It will probably get you a LOT of extra room to bunk the beds, but even if you don’t, if you put a bed on either side of the room you’ll be fine-- their beds are the same building block furniture beds that a lot of us have. My younger cousin lived in an 11x11 double last year and they easily fit two beds, two desks, a fridge, a microwave, a couple floor lamps, and some extra drawer sets no problem and their room was very comfortable. They don’t have the dressers like a lot of our rooms come with but if need be I think you could detach the bookcase from it and stick it under your bed (if you don’t bunk, if you do you’ll fit it fine as is). Either way, most of the rooms people have posted should be very livable. The dorm I have become accustomed to is an 8x11 and even that seemed spacious enough once I got used to it. I must admit it was a shock when we moved in, but you adjust quickly. As long as you don’t obscure the windows they will probably become the focus of the room, and there are LOTS of tricks to making a tiny room feel bigger. We put lots of artwork and some mirrors on the walls and it made them seem less like they were bearing down on us and more like we were in a cozy room.

The 9x25 has got to be the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard of, though. XD My room is longer than it is wide as well, but not to that extreme. I’m sure you’ll come up with some very clever decorating ideas and I would love to know what they are come Fall. :P
