room transfer

I really cannot stand my roommate and I really cannot continue to live like this... it will be the most miserable year of my life. I put in multiple requests for room transfers today, has anybody ever had any experience with these? What are the chances I will be able to transfer?

thanks

I graduated in a fall semester and I happened to see a dude in the study room who HATED his roommate. I offered to give him my room and he set it up through the hall RA to take my room for the spring.

I suspect not too many people were in my situation though.

What issues are you having with your roommate?

dont really want to get into it, but its just not going to work.

Room transfers do happen but usually not until all the temporary triples are "detripled". I know of someone a few years ago who had "roommate issues" when she lived, as a freshman, in Jennings. She moved in October to a room in Murphy.

I just asked because the RA might not take this to their GHD or RLC (there bosses) unless it was a serious matter. If its something like cleanliness then they wont care for now. The RA would probably sit down with both of you and go over the gator-2-gator contract, that you both hopefully signed. I have seen transfers occur when the roommates where to the point of physically fighting and another when the parent complained enough to annoy housing.

yea. i figured they wouldnt move you if you just say you dont like your roommate. i live in hume and its really expensive and i put that it is too expensive, which is another reason. i think that is better than just saying i dont like my roommate.

thanks
