Roomate Assignments Are Up

weird they didnt put anything out besides first name and #

but wow, im actually living with people my own age this year! what a concept!

ChanX,

i know who the roommate is.

so does anyone know anything about this academic theme floor?

Ok I'm placed in Sunset Village Triple.

I have two people as my roommate and one person as a suitemate.
What's the difference between a roommate and a suitemate?

They don't live in your room, but they'll be using your restroom.

I'm in Rieber Hall. The good thing is they put me on the 2nd floor. The bad thing is they gave me 3 roommates (I'm supposed to be in a triple). Wth?

Well if you have an actual room number (and are actually in a hall) then the many roomies is probably just an error. However, check to see if your room is actually a room, or if instead you have the lounge as a room number.

I'm pretty sure last year we were so tight on housing that they assigned people to lounges (obviously meaning you'd have more than 2 other roommates). But don't worry, they didn't have to convert any lounges last year. If the lounge thing is the case, hopefully you'll be assigned an actual room eventually. But let's just hope they screwed up with the names.

Muhaha,

lol i gave up finding out who's my roommate is

if anyone wants to find their roommates, you can try this site for reverse phone number

http://www.whitepages.com/reverse_phone

if your roommate published their info, then it should be on there and it might be easier to find them on facebook. none of my "roommates" number are published except one which is my friend i requested

I'm in Hitch Suites. I have two roommates and one suitemate.. Wait, does that mean 4 of us share one bath?

kick deneve dogwood is pretty cool. i lived on the first floor last year. it just depends how social your floor is.

i live in a suite, shouldnt we be given the names of the other two suitemates?
and if i knew a person that was in saxon suites and wanted to switch to hitch suites, and another that wanted to switch from hitch to saxon, is that a possible switch?

I ended up in an F suite single in Hedrick Summit, any thoughts on this specific room in terms of the other singles? I ask because someone had said there was a slight difference in terms of size or something, or that certain singles were preferable to others. Any of my 9 roomies, speak up!

Why are they only giving out the first name and phone # of roommates this year; didn't they used to give out the full name and email address?

^ Yeah really. My roommates are "Yin" and "John." I have their home phone numbers but that's worthless... They should at least give emails so we can trade s/n's and whatnot because frankly the way I see it the only way we can talk to our roommates is over an awkward phone call or stalking them over facebook.

"Hey Yin! I'm your new roommate buddy!"
"..."

The F suite is bad. It's the one right next to the A/C unit and your door faces the door that leads into the hallway of the 5 singles. Although, I've heard that supposedly the end rooms are larger...

But then again, at least you're not next to the bathrooms, which is E and K.

Most preferably ones seem to be D and J. End rooms. Farthest down the hall. (Although minor drawback is that those doors are almost directly across from E and K doors.)

As far as roommates go, does that mean that they're not sending out letters anymore? Usually that's how it's done; it comes will a full name and email/phone if the person opted to do so.

infearandfaith,

what floor u on? and u a guy or girl?

***: I was supposed to have a double in the margan apartments. Now I have 2 roommates? And I'm scheduled to pay the rate for a double. That's totally bs. I better be paying less than those with a triple studio with a loft because my apartment doesn't even come with a loft.

If you want to find what wing you're in, or actually exactly where your room is, I think this link will work: http://www.housing.ucla.edu/maps/och-map.htm
