<p>Go knock on his door and tell him the problems you have with your roomate. Then ask if it woulf be possible for you to switch rooms. Heck, there’s probably a form you can fill out for this kind of thing.</p>
<p>Dude are ****ing serious? “how do I approach my RA on this”? Do you like, not know how to talk to others? This is probably why your having problems with your roomate. You knock on your RA’s door, say you have a problem with your roomate, and want to switch rooms. End of story. You really are an idiot</p>
<p>He should be allowed to use his computer quickly for 15 minutes before he leaves for the day. He shouldn’t have to go to the lounge just for that. It is his room too. See if he can turn down the brightness or something, or you can put up a blanket/curtain over the mirrors, or whatever. But yeah, there is only so much you can do. Not everything can be perfect, there are going to be aspects of living with another person that you really dislike, but there’s not a lot you can do about it. And if you’re not willing to remind him “because you aren’t his parent” or whatever, be prepared to have to deal with the behaviors that you don’t like. That’s just how it works, sorry. People forget.</p>
<p>I would say to you, try to get a single. Most roommates do have some habits that will bother you to some extent and you can’t expect everything to be perfect. If you can’t handle that, go ahead and try to move.</p>
<p>PS: If you go to your RA about the girlfriend thing, you can probably have a discussion about it and perhaps it will get better. However, if you go to him/her about the laptop thing or leaving early or whatever, your RA will probably just tell you to get over it. Because that’s really what you should be doing. Roommates suck. Sorry. Learn to live with it and don’t get one again.</p>
<p>Good luck getting a single, btw. At my school you aren’t even allowed to change rooms until the end of the semester, and singles are in such high demand that you can pretty much assume they’re impossible to get.</p>
