*is there some sort of questionaire thing where they decide who your roomate's gonna be? what if we get stuck with someone who is just horrible?

I hope it's a BIG questionnaire since I don't know ANYONE who's going and I'm an only child who's had my own room since birth. I'm actually looking forward to rooming with someone, just not someone who is a drama queen!

its actually not that in depth

Yeah it's really not very in depth (what time do you go to sleep, do you prefer to study with some distractions or none at all, etc), and moreover, lots of people have complained of getting roommates that don't fit the description of the survey they filled out.

If you get stuck with someone who is just horrible, you meet other people on your floor who aren't horrible, make friends in classes, adjust. And it's only a year.

Does anyone know if you're allowed to room w/ a sophomore? For example, I have a good friend who goes there this year. Could I room w/ her next year when I'm a freshman and she's a sophomore?

very possible to room with soph/jr/sr

^ I thought so, but I just wanted to check. Thx. ;)

wait but does this mean that freshmen can possibly be roomed with upperclassmen by random room assignments (not by request)? Can you somehow choose "freshman roomate" as one of your preferences for housing?

i don't think so. they'll try to keep the freshman together but i know a room on my floor that has a soph and a frosh. they didn't request each other.
