Well, if it was just mailed today it's going to take a week and a half probably to get here...so Friday it is then.

Apparently they've been having server problems, so that's why they couldn't have them up today.

sigh I live in CT, so it might actually be a pretty close race between snail mail and online notification.

ooh the race is on then. Says someone in GA, A trillion states away.

Some people that live in the New York/North Jersey area have gotten their roommate assignments already. One of the many times that it sucks to live in New Orleans lol.

Nothing in the mail here in Philly today....

soOo..some freshmen are being assigned to upperclassmen dorms...

where'd you hear that from?

check your nyu email address..some of my friends got an email stating they were gonna be placed in an upperclass dorm

many people recieve their assignments the day of. they actually mail them out a few days before the first. your's will be coming soon...don't worry :)

in regards to the upperclassmen dorms, don't worry. they probably just ran out of room, and there's nothing scary about being in an upperclassmen dorm your freshman year :)

They ran out of room? Does that happen every year?

It's happened before. To the class of '09 and I guess '11 now. Some freshmen were placed in palladium.

Rotflmfao @ the thought of that. I wish that happened to me.

do they charge you extra for that?

my brother's friend works in real estate in manhattan. he told me that his company always gets calls from NYU looking for places to put students......

Keeshii No (10 char)

Sue, Really? are these incoming freshman or upperclassmen who ask nyu to help them procure housing? I really doubt this is about freshman as I would have heard of a case and NYU would say there is a chance you might not get housing in the housing contracts we sign with them. I think this is more of the former, upperclassmen looking for housing or special cases. NYU also has an off campus housing registry available through NYU life tab on NYU home. I think that is related to what you said.

I got the impression it was the school calling looking to place students in (temp?) housing. I don' know what grades the students were in that needed housing.

I'm praying that my son will be able to sublet my brother's rent controlled apt 2 years from now. He can only sublet it 2 out of 4 years and it will be empty later this fall. My brother lives with his 'friend' near the UN building. But he won't give up his apt in case anything goes wrong in his relationship. His rent for a studio apt a is $780.

Housing package rec'd in Baltimore.

This might be a stupid question but what does it mean if you're living in Goddard and there's an 'A' after your room number?

some rooms are suites and have two rooms (A and B). otherwise, the A may mean nothing. a lot of people with just a single room have an A next to it...it really doesn't mean anything at all if your in one room instead of a suite.

I just got my housing information in the mail today, yay!
