rooming assignments

eh, it’s not that hard to get along with upperclassmen.

It’s alot harder than meeting every freshman living on a freshman floor. Notwithstanding the age, level of maturity, interests, the fact that upperclassmen already have their NYU friends is a factor.

Well, I did my undergrad (and graduate, I already have an M.A.) work in Europe, so I’m a graduate student, but I don’t know anyone at NYU either. It’ll work out though, aside from having the worst possible location :).
It’ll be weird having a roommate though, I’ve been living on my own for 5 years now and all of a sudden I’ll be sharing a bedroom with another person!

I too, was thrown inside Lafayette Street Residence as an incoming Freshman…great~

Quite frankly, I think it’s a positive thing to be placed in an upperclassman dorm as a freshman. I wish I was.

seriously i think i’d cry if they put me in Lafayette now, nevermind a freshmen. its not only a pretty decent-to-far walking distance, it’s also in a remotely different neighborhood with a homeless shelter next store. This is on top of the fact that you’re trying to adjust to lifestyle in New York with everyone who’s already adjusted.

I heard lafayette was a party dorm. Nothing wrong with living there.

Rotflmfao.

I was put into Lafayette too as a freshman. : [
Kind of bummed about it.
Does anyone have any details/experiences regarding Lafayette at all?

My friend lived in the penthouse there. It was the most amazing student housing ever ever. They had an elegant staircase, a kitchen the size of my dorm room (at hayden), 3 singles upstairs, and marbled sinks and finishing in the bathroom. They also had a balcony that is prohibited but her window leads right to it so it was super accessible and nobody ever knows that you set foot. It was seriously amazing.

Third North, Ts-0605! Yeeeaaaahh. It’s gonna be an all-Asian suite too! :)
