for current Cornellians-->
A lot of ppl that ive met who are like me are requesting a roommate. If i cant end up finding someone that I want to request to be with in my double, is that bad? Do most ppl request roommates (and do they end up getting them) or are there a bunch of ppl who dont also? I'm really stressing about this haha. And do u think its bad to request someone cuz u might not end up being friends w/ them and that would be bad to room w/ them? Ah help me please! haha, thanks.

All roommate situations turn bad sooner or later. Some recover and rejuvinate their relationships, but others just fail miserably. It's difficult living with a roommate. With that said, can freshmen apply for single rooms? hoteliegirl, why don't you just get a single? it'll be much better.

Yes freshmen can apply for singles, Jemima. Last year we think there was actually a surplus of singles.

Hotelie, I doubt that most people request their roommates at Cornell, since the majority of the incoming freshmen don't know each other. I can't speak on the risks associated with selecting a roommate, but I can say that I personally would never do it. If I had no single option, there's only 1 or 2 people I know who I would choose, and they've been my friends for years, and they're also not even going to Cornell.

Where do we sign up for rooming?
