Roommate Agreement Questions

So, I've heard about some kind of roommate agreement/contract in the dorms, where you decide on various rules and try to prevent disagreements and such... What are common terms that people decide on? And if you're experienced, what kind of issues came up with roommates later in the year (like overnight guests, leaving the room unlocked, I don't know) that should definitely be discussed at the beginning?

(I am entering as a freshman this Fall… so my word is not infallible)

Well… you are living with another person in close proximity, so I would guess that anything that COULD be disagreed upon may very well be. If you look at this [Living at Cal - Living with a Roommate](http://www.housing.berkeley.edu/livingatcal/roommate.html) webpage, it has some good links to stuff about living with a roommate. In direct response to your question, check out the 2 .pdf’s… one is an example of what a roommate agreement will look like and the other is a questionnaire that you and your roommate may want to fill out to see where you agree and disagree.

crystalknight you are awesome thanks for the link!

That link had some pretty good information, thanks!

Anytime, comrades, anytime :)
