I'm on the 9th floor of Rieber Terrace. Is that good, bad, or unremarkable?

For the record, I want peace and quiet :D

does anyone else think they should've provided us with our roomies' last names too?
[/quote]

I do. It's very awkward to just call someone out of nowhere. At least with their last names, we can facebook them.

^i totally agree... i guess they really want us to call them up first

its really not bad, just call and be like "hey is this xxx, I am your roommate for next year" then maybe ask for nicknames or ask to facebook each other... don't be so shy! :)

haha...

my roomies have different area codes than me, and different from each other as well. and i checked the UCLA Directory with each name and no name matches the given phone number... does this mean they are frosh? can someone confirm this (that second/third/fourth years are listed in the directory and first years aren't).

my mom said she'll get a prepaid card so i can phone them so it won't charge our phone bill extra for calling out-of-area :)

3rd floor hedrick summit anyone?

jeyday,

you're going to have to get used to making long distance calls... just think of all the people that attend UCLA... they are from all over the world! and most people don't change their cell phone number to a 310 area code...

just something to think about...

just call with your cellphone, i don't think the area code matters when it comes to cell phone minutes

^that's true, hadn't crossed my mind

PeskytheBobCat, I'm in building K. I'm so excited!

and ckings, that is true... i will use my cellphone in college anyway

I have a better tip for you guys. Go to Free Reverse Lookup | WhitePages and do reverse lookup with the number and use the last name you get from there :P Found my roommate on facebook that way haha

^im thinking thats borderline creepy

i've resorted to facebook messaging people. luckily my roommates are distinctive names.

The UCLA directory is pretty scary too ...... some people leave all their contact information on there ..... and anyone has access .......

You guys are so hung up about nothing! God! I reverse looked up their numbers on Google and found them that way.

Funny. One site required me to pay to get the info. And, after putting in the number, the free site said that its Unpublished. ***.

So I got put with 2 sophomores who requested each other. I don't really mind, I talked to them on the phone and everyone seems pretty cool, but I was wondering how common this is? I'm just curious, it seems like normally they try to match freshmen up with other freshmen....

its weird how they matched my roomates up...we are all in the same area code...8** and all of our first names start with the same letter and sound VERY familiar

i think they actually match you up by geographical region, last year all 3 of us in my room are from socal, while both of my neighbors are from socal as well, but a couple doors down there are 3 guys all from norcal in a room and 3 girls all from norcal in a room
