roommate contact

Sanluisfreak,
You really need to chill and get into the sharing aspects of college life. If you buy a 6 pack of soda together, then you each drink 3. If you buy them all and don't want to share then make that clear. Your roommate may be a clean freak and be biting her tongue when you don't clean up the microwave to her liking. Don't assume the worst of someone you haven't met yet. Unless you get a single room, you are going to be sharing a lot of stuff. That's sharing - not stealing or hogging.

We actually did see one dorm room (double) on our tours a couple of years ago where each kid had her own TV - not the tiny ones either; maybe 19-21". Go figure.

i think it just depends where you go. i don't know anybody who didn't have a TV and dvd player in their room during college, and I don't know anyone who actually watched DVD's on their computer. Kids didn't sit around watching movies by themselves on their computer. they watched them in groups on the larger TV. Maybe times have changed... but it's only been a couple years since I lived in the dorms. same thing with a fridge and microwave, and most schools don't supply them.
