<p>All three of those are wrong if it leaks- replacing damaged things that were on the floor (not cheap), hits an electrical cord (not safe), and it's not temperature regulated/reliable anyway.</p>

<p>It's not the end of the world if your roommate doesn't contact you, either. You don't have to have 'epic conflicts.'</p>

<p>People use refrigerators everyday and nothing like that happens (now that I've said that, it will probably happen to me). Your excuses for not using one is like me saying that I don't want to drive in a car because we could wreck, catch on fire, or I could get carjacked. Using a cooler is not a smart idea because of the reasons mentioned above, plus everything in it would get wet. Where do you plan on draining the water out? You know that if they are wet all the time, mold could develop. Also, who wants to hear their roommate rummaging thru ice searching for something at 3 am.</p>

<p>maybe you have a roomie with famous parents. I know kids who use their mother's maiden name because their father's is too recognizable.</p>
