Roommate over Hall

I found someone I want to room with, but I'm just wondering. If I put that I want her as a roommate would that make it less likely that we would get the hall we want, since our priority is our roommate. We both want to live in Jennings.

I did hall over everything. You’ll probably get to room together if you both have good housing numbers.

If you pick roommate first, whoever has the latest priority date will be the priority date for both of you. So if you are Oct 2010 and she is March 2011, then the new date would be March 2011 for both.

ASMAJ, last year, 2010 spring, the roommate with the better/earlier priority date got to pick for both. My son had a better priority date than his roommate-to-be and he had the better date to pick, so he logged on and secured a space for his roommate with the worse priority date. They did get their first pick of dorms even though they put roommate as their first pick over halls. Has it changed this year from last year?
