I applied for housing back in September or October, but my preferred roommate applied later, like in April/May. If I put on my preferences I would prefer to live with my roommate no matter the dorm, but I am worried that my roommate applied so late that he would get supplemental housing. Could this in any way cause me to get bumped to supplemental? Also, what are the chances that my roommate could get into a dorm, let alone our first choices of Jester E/W?

It would be based on the roommate who send their deposit in first. So to clarify, when your roommate applied, since it was after you, does not matter.

Does your roommate have a contract already? The contract says if you are in supplemental housing or not.

UT Housing goes by the housing application date when assigning rooms - so the day you did the original application with the $50 fee. For preferred roommates, it uses the earlier of the two application dates for the pair.
