<p>I’m glad it worked out finally for your S and he shouldn’t have had to go through it. It probably gave him a certain experience though. </p>
<p>But - what happened to the nutcase roomie? It doesn’t seem that he should be inflicted on any other unsuspecting roomie or should even be permitted to stay at the school although I suppose the guy could have just denied it all.</p>

<p>Having watched DS go through a rough roommate experience, I am all for contacting the Dean of Students, early and often :D. Seriously though, it is their job to take care of students so one should not hesitate to contact them when serious issues arise. Also, if it is a matter that will involve changing rooms, I think it makes sense to contact the Dean earlier rather than later, as they will facilitate the change.</p>
