I currently live on campus with my roommate but he is going to transfer to another school for spring semester. Does this mean I will get a new roommate? Or will I live on my own for the rest of the school year?
There’s probably no way to tell. You might be assigned a new roommate who is transferring in or maybe someone who had been doing fall semester abroad. Some schools might allow students to move after a semester if they had issues with their original roommate.
If you are hoping to have a room to yourself next term (and not have to pay extra for it), then there may not be much you can do but cross your fingers. If your school is one that’s short on housing and has a waiting list of people wanting to live on campus, then your chances of having the place to yourself next term are not good.
On the other hand, if you want a roommate, let the housing people know. You could also take the opportunity to let them know about your habits and lifestyle so they could hopefully match you up well.
