I don't know what to do, so I am turning to the experts here at CC. I am having roommate problems, but they are very bizarre and I need advice on how to deal with this. I have an awesome roommate, since day one we have been great friends. I go to an out of state school, where nobody knew me, and I was pretty frightened...but my roommate had my back, and still does. The problem is, he can't seem to shed his High School lifestyle...he needs to go home practically every weekend to hang out with a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds. He will come back and be like, "I wish I had gone to my hometown college instead, I know so and so's dad teaches there" or "everybody back home tells me I should transfer here".

But then the dude completely contradicts himself. He will tell me things like, "I hope we get to live in that new residence hall next year" or "I love my teachers here, hope I get some of them again next year." I feel like he is teetering on the edge of transferring, or spending another year here with me. Has anyone experienced something like this? How should I go about convincing him, that he should stay and not go...before it is too late?
