Hey guys. I just talked to both of my roommates(i have a triple) and they both suck ass. lol does anybody know how to go about switching roommates?

i might be in the same situation. maybe not, theyre nice people tho haha. but idunooo. sum1 answer her/him!!!:)

lol how do you know that from talking to them one time?

Just a feeling I guess. Plus, they're like not bringing anything and it's pretty impossible for me to bring stuff because I'm going there by plane (I'm from New York) so I figured I could pay for the fridge myself if they got a tv or something but they are not bringing anything...

maybe they're just big nerds that study all the time and have no social life. you could always not bring another too and just go over to a good friends to use their things. and if you have a laptop, get a tv tuner. that way you don't have to share with them either! haha.

they're not even willing to split for the fridge?

yeah what do you mean "not bringing anything"?? That would be pretty dick if they don't want to split the cost of a minifrige or something, but seriously, you shouldn't base your decision on a feeling you have after talking to them via phone/internet just a few times. There is an open transfer period the first few weeks of school where you can transfer to a different room.

not bringing anything or not buying anything?

wait my roommate told me u cant bring a frid/mircowave, u have to rent one? thats so gay. it cost like 165

I thought you can bring a fridge or a microwave, one or the other, can't have them separate.

Either that or the microfridge...

Oh, the housing booklet says no free-standing microwaves, but it doesn't say anything about a mini fridge.

mini fridges are fine to bring and you do NOT have to rent them from the school. you can go somewhere, buy a little one for less than it would cost you to rent one... the rule is just no free-standing microwaves. and if you want a microwave then, you have to rent one from the school since that's the only place (that I've seen) that has a micro-fridge combination.

fearfulliving, maybe your roommates can't afford to buy anything or simply are not interested in things like a tv. You don't need to have everything for your room on day one, especially at UCLA. Just go shopping once you get there. Find a dorm mate with a car and hit the mall (any mall) on a weekend.

Dood, dont bother about any fridge/microwave. If you have a meal plan you are covered as far as food goes. As for the beer, there is always plenty at parties, esp. thursday nights.
