I know I read on one of the threads that the kids would find out who their roommates are on August 7, so I thought I would pass along that my D got her roommate (and suite mate) assignment two days ago (July 31). We were so shocked to find out so soon, but very happy about it. I don't know if everyone who already has their housing assignment has found out who they are rooming with or just some, but if you haven't checked your email, go do it. :)

My D just received her roommate and room number too. It’s Bursley – hurray for North Campus – at least when you are a music student! She may end up in classes with your daughters, saxlady and LuvMyMezzo! Very excited as the date draws near…

I’m sure they will all get to know one another! It IS exciting!! And my D’s roommate is also a voice performance major, which really surprised me - I didn’t think they would do that. Luckily they are not the same voice type, LOL!

My D still does not have her housing assignment. She did receive an email the other day saying sorry you haven’t received your housing assignment yet but rest assure we will have a room for you. We are starting to wonder if she will be finding out her housing assignment by her roommate contacting her first. She is very anxious to get settled on campus!

My D received her housing assignment before she found out who her roommate is (and the specific room and building in Baits II), but with it being so late in the game, I wonder if they will just give you all the info at the same time. My D’s roommate is a mezzo, and I got excited thinking it was your D, but then I realized that she was from a different part of the country and couldn’t possibly be your D, which made me sad. But I’m sure all of our girls will get to know each and I hope they all become friends! LuvMyMezzo - let us know which dorm she’s in when you find out.

LuvMyMezzo, hoping she hears very soon.

I have had three kids go to college. Only one of them was friends with their roommates!

Hope your kids have a wonderful year at UM. It is a pretty great place, and your kiddoes will thrive and meet some amazing people.

My D finally received her Housing and Roommate assignment yesterday afternoon. She will be in Bursley with a non-music major from California. My D is dual-degreeing in Neuroscience and her roommate will also be majoring in Neuroscience so that will be nice for them. They talked a lot yesterday and are both very excited.
