<p>You can request/confirm roommates or wait to be randomly assigned.</p>
<p>I did random assignment and I love my roommate! We talked a fair amount over Facebook after being assigned and then I met up with her on my way out to USC.</p>
<p>Unless you specified another student you wanted to live with when you filled out your housing form, you will be placed according to the responses you gave on your roommate survey. In the summer, you will be given the name and contact info of the student you are placed with so you can call them/meet them before school begins – helpful for getting to know them before you move in and so you can coordinate who will bring what items.</p>
