<p>I don’t think anyone else would see anything wrong either - if only helping students was actually their intention. But they apparently also have the intention of making money for themselves by charging students money for somethng that is available for free and doing so while disguising themselves as officially connected with the school.</p>

<p>It feels almost like they’re trying to invade a club they don’t belong to. </p>

<p>IMO, the only people who “belong” in a Facebook group for the incoming College X Class of 2015 are the new freshmen themselves, and representatives of the university if that’s how the university decides to play it. </p>

<p>Not parents, not students from other universities, not commercial entities.</p>

<p>And it makes sense for either a new freshman or the college to start up the group and advertise it. It just feels squooshy to have someone else host the space.</p>
