Hey All!
My Name is Alex and i am Newly accepted to Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing arts. I am a theatre major. I am just writing to see if there are any other people like me who were accepted early admission to CCPA. I’d like to start some sort of community and get to know some of you. If there are any of you here then you are probably similar to me and you enjoy learning as much about the school you are attending as possible. I did a lot of research and i found that CCPA was the best place for me. I went to the early action auditions in December, and i was accepted! I was wondering if anyone else was accepted early, or if CCPA is the top choice for anyone else! I’d love to hear about other people’s processes to get in to such an amazing school.

Hey, Alex! Congrats on getting accepted! I’m a sophomore MT at CCPA, so if you or any other accepted students have any questions, feel free to ask them here or send me a message!

and I’m a senior!
we have someone in every grade on here to cover all the questions you could possibly ask
Congrats!
You are going to have a blast!

Does anyone know when decisions will be sent out and how?

Hi there!!!

Last year they were sent around March 15th by mail so hopefully around that time this month, letters will start to trickle out Let me know If you have anymore questions! :)

How many does roosevelt accept?
and is it by mail?

Hey guys! I work in the admissions office at CCPA, and all letters will be sent by March 31. And we look for a class of 25 MTs each year (half boys and half girls). However, we accept slightly over that number because we know that not all those who are accepted will accept our offer.

Good luck with everything. If you have any questions, you can certainly post them here or call the CCPA admissions office. We’re always happy to answer questions!

Yippee! S just received an e-mail from CCPA informing him that he’s been accepted into the MT program! Congratulations to anyone else accepted, and good luck to those waiting to hear.

They are sending emails?
How long ago did you receive the email?

what did the email say?

Was it a group email or individual one?

S received an e-mail around 1:00 this afternoon. It was an individual note, short and sweet, along the lines of “Congratulations, you have been accepted into the Theatre Conservatory at Roosevelt University for MT.” We know of a girl who was also accepted today for acting, but I’m not sure how she was notified. I’m assuming e-mail also, because she was telling people about it around the same time that my S found out.

Congrats to your son! Our son was so hoping for CCPA as it was his first choice…LOVES the area and had good vibes there. But if not he will go with choice 2 or 3 which fortunately came through yesterday and today. Phew… rejections are tough :)

abbygirl, best of luck to your son. Keep the faith that he’ll get in…you never know how or when they will determine the final new class. It’s still relatively early in the selection process, and as they say (who’s THEY anyway?) “it ain’t over 'til it’s over…” Congratulations to him on his other acceptances, it’s been a good week for him, huh?

MTguyMom—When did your son audition?

S auditioned at Roosevelt during Chicago Unifieds.

Our son also received an acceptance to CCPA’s MT program via email. He auditioned at the Chicago Unifieds. When I talked to CCPA they were still working on the FAFSA stuff. Our son was blessed to be accepted into all of his top 5 schools. CCPA is his #2 choice. As always, now it will come down to finances.

ManVan, congrat’s to your son and to you on his CCPA acceptance, as well as his other admits. He must be very talented. My S really likes Roosevelt’s program, too. He thought the school was beautiful, and he absolutely loves that it’s in Chicago (in such a wonderful location!). We’re still waiting to hear about financial aid as well. For us also, his final decision will be based mostly on cost. It’s a little depressing that it has to be this way, wish he could just go wherever he wants to go. Good luck to your son, maybe he and my S will be classmates next year…

This makes me nervous. This is my top choice, and I’m starting to wonder if not getting an email is a sign of bad news. My grandma always says, “No news, is good news.” But…I’m still freaking out.

Have a lot of people received emails of acceptance?

I was pretty much accepted on the spot at NY Unifieds and I know one other person who auditioned in Chicago who was accepted after his audition as well. Neither of us have received e-mails yet, so not to worry!
And the school is accepting students in waves.
