Rose Bowl!

they hadnt won since '92 i think…still wanted Texas Tech to win…:(

sorry…texas (was thinkin of tech at the time)

Well, Alabama was lucky in the end. Actually neither team had their quarterback last night. I don’t know if McElroy was a bit sick or what, but they sure couldn’t depend on him to do anything more than just hand-off the ball.

It was very frustrating in the 3rd quarter when in appeared that Saban had the attitude that Bama was ahead by enough to not need to score anymore and just hold off Texas. But, as we all know, then Texas started scoring and Bama had to wake up! LOL My H and I jumped out of our seats and hugged each other when Bama recovered that fumble deep in Texas territory - what a game changer. :)

Yea! For National Championship #13. I guess Bama will have to change that “logo’d helmut” they always show with #12 on it.

And, hats off to Nick Saban, it only took him 3 seasons - amazing.

We were talking last night about how long it’s going to take to get Nick Sabin’s statue up in front of the stadium. Guess he’ll be next to Gene Stallings.

Isn’t it nice that they’ll have some nice SEC & BCS championship merchandise in the bookstore for Capstone Scholars Day ;)?

^^^

We were saying the same thing! I’ve heard that Bama has a spot for it. Guess the order is going in today.

There are at least 2 stores at Midtown Village that sell nice Bama gear - one is Bama Fever and the other is Alumni Hall (I prefer Alumni Hall - it’s towards the back of Midtown Village).

Thanks for that M2CK! I said to DD yesterday that we need to spend a little time in downtown Tuscaloosa this time…now we have another reason to!

We had quite a few people congregating where Nick’s statue will be after the game. Somebody also made it so the statue of Bear was holding a rose, which was a classy photo-op. We’ll see how long it takes to put the statue up.

RobD, Midtown Village is on McFarland, but there is still stuff to see downtown.

^^^

Midtown Village is a nice place to check out. It’s on McFarland Drive, just south of Veterans Memorial Pkwy. It’s easy to find because it has the big Barnes and Noble in front. It has many restaurants, shops, etc. It’s one of those new “lifestyle outdoor malls” that have been cropping up in fair-weather cities.

[Midtown Village :: Home](http://www.midtownvillagetuscaloosa.com/)

If you click on Directory, it will give you store listings. If you click on Property map, it gives you the layout (Alumni Hall (Bama gear) and Iguana Grill (Mexican) are in the back area.

We’ll see how long it takes to put the statue up.

:)

It will depend on whether any preliminaries have been done. If none were done, it could take a year or more. But, knowing Bama, they probably already have had Nick “3-D imaged” (or whatever they do) to get the mold ready, so that it can be up by next fall. LOL
