There's not much info about this topic here(only one Thread from 2008 I guess><")

Just want to know compare with some state universities like Purude, or tech school like georgia tech
is Rose Hulman good for graduate school?
Anyone? =)

redfedora711: Thank you for answering my question! I know Rose is a really good school, especially for its undergraduate program and engineering program(hahaha~ that’s the reason I finally decide to go there) I’m an international, so when I did research on internet, there’s not that much info about where Rose student go after gradute(I know lots go to really good company, but for me, i care more about grad school ><" cuz i want to major in Aerospace engineering after graduate from Rose’s MechE…). anywayzzzz… thank you so much for your reply~

When I was looking at Rose I asked the admissions folks about this and they were able to give me a list of grad schools that Rose grads had gone to in the past 3 years. I advise anyone interested to do the same.

Jared Goulding
Assistant Director of Admissions
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

I am a current student at Rose-Hulman. Is the list of grad schools attended by the class of 2008 and 2009 REALLY THAT LONG? There are 469 entries you put there. Don’t you think the total is way too high?

Given that there are ~450 undergrads each year and ~20% go to grad school right away, I would expect ~180 grads in the past two years went to grad schools. Of course I know that due to the job market that number has gone up, but I would be surprised if it was 50%. Did you count 469 in just the 08 and 09 lists?

I just copied and pasted what the Career Services office gave me, and I never said the list shows where students have attended the past two years. From what I have been told, the 2008-2009 list includes acceptances and students tend to apply and be admitted to more than one school. So we should expect a higher number than 160-170.

The first list is actual attendances, however.

Jared Goulding
Assistant Director of Admissions
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology

Career Services told me that the percentage attending grad school is almost exactly the same as it has been for several years, right around 23%, so despite the job market, the number of students going to grad school hasn’t increased much.
