Rose Hill v. Lincoln Center

I'm applying for Fall 2009 and am having so much trouble deciding the campus to which I should apply. I love that Rose Hill has an actual campus feel, but is not at all far from Manhattan. However, I really adore the area where the Lincoln Center campus is located and it's IN Manhattan, which is an obvious plus. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the pros and cons of each campus, aside from location. Thanks so much!

Depends somewhat on what your intended major is. Lincoln Center tends to be more artsy and theatre oriented and also has some of the more difficult languages: Russian, Chinese, Arabic. (though students at Rose Hill can take them at Lincoln Center if they desire).

Rose Hill has ALL the sports and sports facilities.

Some people are just Lincoln Center type of people....wanting that urban quasi NYU feel.

There are other threads on this issue in the Fordham forum on CC. Check them out. And also go to the Fordham.edu website and compare.

The Lincoln Center campus is great if :
You are a 19 year old that likes living like a 24 year old.
Have a large disposable income.
Have family/friends nearby or can deal with being very independent.
Like going out to clubs.
Have a special ID.
Don't have use for on campus activities.

Nocousin is right about the Lincoln Center campus having a "quasi NYU feel" except NYU students have a lot of cheap eats and better clubbing opportunities. LC students are stuck with the cafeteria's award winning meal plan. If you are flush with cash you can take advantage of all the posh restaurants in the area. The Mandarian Oriental and Per Se are right down the street. Otherwise learn how to say Halal, love 99 cent pizza, and learn how to cook.

Fordham does a great job of taking the edge off of living in the city but really understand what you are choosing when you live at the LC campus.

My high schooler already has his eye on Fordham and is debating the same thing. It is really a big decision because it is so very different in life styles. The dorms in LC are the best I have seen for Manhattan UG living, but RH is truly traditional college with ready availability to Manhattan. A tough choice. My second son would have picked LC in an instant. The oldest RH. It was a tough choice for the third, (he applied to RH) and the next one is thinking about it. Both good choices.

To risk sounding cliched, which one is more you? The thing with Fordham is that you can always take classes at the other campus if you're up for a change. Go for the campus that you would feel most comfortable living in. If you can't live without the sprawling campus feel, go for RH. If you want lots of independence and the experience of living right in Manhattan, go for LC.

So, if i'm interested in Fordham's communication and media studies major, can I go to either campus or do I have to go to one?
