My sister is checking out this school. She's thinking about civil engineering. Has anyone attended this school? Thoughts?

Very few women in the student body at RHIT. When we visited a few years back it was over 70% men, primarily from the midwest. Despite that, it was a school our S really liked (and was accepted) because of small classes and decent job opportunities. He ended up elsewhere, but was glad to have an acceptance in hand from RHIT quite early senior year.

My sister got a 21 on her ACT, 24 in Math. Would Rose-Hulman be a big reach for her?

Although women have a tremendous advantage in admissions at RHIT, a 21 on the ACT is quite low for the school, as is a 24 in math. Those stats appear to fall in their bottom 5% or even lower. Unless she has other attributes or stats showing she is well qualified, I would think it is a high reach for admission. Even if admitted, she might not have the skill set necessary to do well there.
