Rosen College Apartments?

I was accepted to UCF last week as a transfer student and while I'm excited to go, I was surprised to read that transfer students do not get on campus housing. After reading all I could about the UCF affiliated apartments (Pegasus Landing and Pointe), I just wasn't interested.

Does anyone know anything about the Rosen College student apartments? I saw a video tour on UCF's housing website, but I'd like to hear from someone that's actually visited or lived there.

The Rosen Apartments are nice, but unless you are a student going to Rosen school of Hospitality Management, there is no reason to stay there. They are over by Universal Studios (About 35-40 min. drive).

You don't have to stay in the Rosen apartments if you are a freshman. D is staying on the main campus and taking necessary courses there. She is majoring in Event Management, which is under the Rosen School of Hospitality Management.

BTW, I toured the apartments at Rosen and they are practically brand new, clean and beautiful. In fact, the entire College has a resort-feeling to it. They told us that they never reach capacity in the apartments, so if you are looking for a small college atmosphere, Rosen is the place to be. They consist of apartment-style, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (or 2 bedrooms 1 bath), a kitchen and a living room area and a pool.

and yes, Rosen College Apartments are at least 45 minutes away, depending on traffic it could be more or less. As an alternative to driving or having a car on campus, there is shuttle between Rosen and the main campus:

A waiting list will open on our website on February 2, 2009. Transfer students and students living off-campus may add their name to a waiting list for a space in Towers at that time if they wish.

Here is the link to the waitlist:

Every year they have a waitlist and every year, come fall, there are openings in the Towers on the main campus. My daughter lives there, and loves it. I suggest you add your name to the list.

If you do not get off it by summer, rent a bedroom in an apartment complex near UCF like Northgate Lakes (they have individual leases/per bedroom).

Lucky girl to be in Towers! My daughter loves the Towers but she is OOS so, between the cost of Towers and OOS tuition it sends us overboard, but hopefully she will be one of the lucky freshman who gets in at Lake Claire apartments. I hope they recognize that she will be in nike/herc dorm for summer and will be done with "dorming" by Fall and looking forward to her own room. She already has a roomate and they've signed themselves up.
