Roski

has anyone heard from Roski yet?

My friend got her Roski acceptance yesterday.

My S applied, and so far no mail. =(

His status has changed “Being Reviewed -> Forwaded -> Being Reviewed”, and backdoor seems like working.

check out this site…Celebrate USC Admissions 2010 here…it has a list of all the schools and acceptances so far. Only one has listed accepted in to Roski.

it seems like there was YES on April 1, 2008.
hopefully there will be more YES in the next wave…

Got the package today (stamped on 3/16).
It seems like for Roski school, status flow is “Being Rvd -> Fwd -> Being Rvd”, and the package is sending!!!
Good luck all of you!

Congratulations ukukdad and ukukson!

ukukdad,

Great for you and your son! My daughter is also trying for Roski but we haven’t seen that big envelope yet. She was accepted to UCLA-Arts a few days ago and a Roski yes would create a fun dilemma for her: which one?

We’re pinching ourselves daily because both schools are ‘reach’ for her. I guess with art majors you just never know.

Congrats!
Wheaty

@Wheaty
Thanks!

My S applied UCLA-MDA, but did not get it.
But we got our 1st choice!!!
Now we’re waiting for financial package. =)

Wheaty, wow congrats to your daughter! UCLA’s art program (design media arts?) is very competitive, especially this year. A lot of my friends, who had the grades and talent for it, were rejected. I know this is a USC thread, but I would definitely think about LA’s art program.

Wheaty…I also applied to UCLA. The program there is simply amazing with opportunities for all kinds of great knowledge, great internships, etc. USC may be your #1 choice, but UCLA’s program is simply incredible and nearly impossible to get into this year. Congrats on that HUGE acceptance. Now…let’s get her accepted at Roski as well!!

einnob,
My D is Fine Arts photography and their program is one of the tops in the U.S. so like I said, we’re both very excited. I feel greedy being here looking for yet another yes from a reach school with an amazing arts program.

I know both schools are arch rivals but not so much between the art schools. People from both schools like and respect each other. During this process the people from UCLA liked my daughters work and suggested that she also apply to Roski and in fact they offered to call over to introduce her. The same exact thing happened when she had a one on one interview at USC “You should show this to UCLA”. Pretty cool.

I think the reason for this might be that in the world of art, it’s your work that counts. Good art is respected by good artists regardless of where it comes from. There also seems to be a solid spirit of togetherness. I dunno, maybe I’m reading to much into things but that’s what it looks like from my perspective.

We like both programs very very much and she would be delighted, thrilled, and slightly oh-I’m-not-worthy to go to either.

Best,
Wheaty

Tornados,
Thank you my friend!

There is no doubt that not only USC but also UCLA has one of the best program for FBA.
Cong. for all got the package and good luck for all waiting for!

Wheaty, I’m Fine Arts Photography as well!!! That is so cool. I was rejected at UCLA, but have a great deal of respect for their innovative program.

Tornados,
If your portfolio is online please PM me with the link!

Wheaty it is not online…so sorry. Is your daughter’s? I took mine down after I saw one done by a guy that ended up not accepting the UCLA offer. It was soooooo good, so different than mine. Mine was very conventional, no photoshop or anything. This guy’s was totally a photoshop portfolio, really elaborate stuff. Nothing wrong with that at all, I just didn’t think of doing anything like that. I did normal, every day photography. I am certain I fell short because of the absence of photoshop stuff.

Wheaty…I would be stunned if she does not get into Roski. Thank you for the PM, her work is amazing. The good thing for me is that it helps me see where my portfolio is lacking and that is always a good thing. I am so thankful that you shared it with me.

Keeping her in my prayers.

bump…
has anyone else heard?

bump…anyone hear anything?
