As per above site:

November 1: Priority Review – Early Action Deadline
We give preference to applications completed by the University of Michigan’s Early Action deadline, November 1. We consider applications completed after November 1 only as space permits.

Notification Date
We will communicate your preferred admission decision by email within 16 weeks of your formal admission to U-M.

Blaaaahhhhh, 16 weeks seems so long!!

damn… I applied quite late in the process haha. I hope the spaces don’t fill up quickly.
Anyway, thank you for the info.

i wouldn’t worry a lot about the spots filling up. The admissions committee knows that they’ll get a ton of quality applicants throughout the process which is why they take 2-4 weeks after you’re admitted to LSA or Engineering to make a decision. I remember the director of admissions, at one of the preferred admit events, talking to a student and remembering that exact student’s essay/extra curriculars, so they pay a lot of special attention to the PAs. They admit around 300-330 students, and of those, about 80-120 end up sending in the IR to attend. The other ones usually go to ivies/other top 25 schools.

I applied super late in the admissions cycle (circa January 22nd or 23rd last year iirc - don’t know why I waited so long since UofM was my top choice hahaha) and I got admitted March 25th-ish I think. and then I found out about my Ross decision on April 4th which was the day I got off for spring break and i definitely celebrated pretty hard. Talking to some of the other preferred admits, and some had to wait 6 weeks for a decision after they got in, while a few heard within days. I think they were the ones that applied later in the cycle though.

anyway, don’t worry about the wait, the length doesn’t mean anything so don’t get antsy. it’s an exciting period, and it’s SUPER competitive, so don’t get down on yourself if you didn’t get in. My best friend out here didn’t get in with like a 4.3 and 33 ACT, but he’s applying as a freshman and he has a 3.75, tons of extra currics and in a fraternity (he drinks 2-3 days a week, watches movies with us, works out and has free time) and he’s brilliant so he’ll probably get in.

Admitted to Ross as a Regular Decision Applicant

GPA 3.85

Econ A-

Calc A-

Latin A

ACT 30

SAT 2050

EC’s 5 here at UMich Freshman Year

Essay’s are Extremely Important!!! Most Applicants know that GPA A/B avg is base criteria and EC’s obviously help… therefore that leaves Essays as the unique variable that will differentiate you from the rest of the pack
