If I am planning to apply to ross (not PA), other than the prereqs, what are good classes to take? My advisor told me not to take both Econ 101/102, and to just take 101 in the winter. Does anyone have any opinons on the whole econ thing? Would it matter that I am not taking both Econs?

Bump?
Anyone who has been admitted to ross know?

Take only Econ 101 your freshman year. The B-School organizes the schedule around you taking Econ 102 sophomore year after you're admitted.

Also take:

English 124 or 125 (required)

Language classes (may be required)

Calculus / Diff EQ (may be required)

Stats 350 (not required, but useful)

Stuff that you're interested in

Oh thats such a relief that it won't be a disadvantage I thought I'd have to rework my whole schedule to take both the econs.

has anyone registered for courses yet?

** What if I have credit for Econ? Does that mean I should not take Econ 101, and take a higher lvl econ course?

I would recommend taking Econ 102. You don't have to take it in the B-school and hence have more flexibility for that semester.
I would think having a good balance of quantitative and writing classes would be helpful.
-Stats 350 - useful class
-English 225 - Argumentative writing - Very good class especially if you're good at English. Helps for writing your b-school essays too.
-Physics 140/ Calc 2 - If you're quantitatively minded
-Uc 245 - Global Interdependence. Has quite a number of bschool students as it is offered by the Center of International Business Education.

Take ACC 271 if you want to push yourself. I took ACC 271 in the Winter, got an A, and got accepted to the B School. But once again, only take it if you know you're good at quantitative type classes with tough timed exams. I ran out of time on two of the three exams and would compare them to SAT exams. You will also put alot of work into studying it and taking practice exams.

If you take ACC 271, take it Winter semester. It is easier to do better during the winter because of the curve.
