Hi guys, I do have a question regarding Umich ross. The site states that Ross undergraduate BBA would take 3 years to complete. So would the entire college experience at Umich be 3 years? Or does that mean I would have to complete a freshman year (1 year) before attending ross (3 years) and complete the education in 4 years?
Sorry for asking such a dumb question. I looked through their prospectus and still couldn’t quite figure this part out.
There is a freshman year preceding whether you are a pre-admit or are applying in your freshman year. If you get admitted to Ross you begin Fall of your sophomore year.
@wayneandgarth Then is there any way I can graduate from Ross in 3 years? Or would that not be possible since I am not allowed to use AP credits?
I do have cost concerns. I am an international student.
You pretty much have to go four years. You start out elsewhere at Michigan (most are in LS&A). If you are not a Ross pre-admit, you don’t even know for sure you will get into Ross.
There are no short cuts at top schools like Michigan.
3 1/2 years is possible. My son (Ross grad) only took 4 credits his last semester and could have finished a semester early. He didn’t want to graduate early because of how much he loves Michigan.
That was before Ross added the Capstone course so I don’t know if that would require you to be at Ross through the Winter semester of your Sr year.
Ross is very strict about its curriculum so there is no longer any way you can graduate in less than 3 years from Ross (I know this speaking from experience, based on the curriculum changes that were made during the 2014-15 school year). However, assuming you have your graduation recs done you could theoretically take as little as 3 credits your last semester (just the capstone course), but you won’t be able to actually graduate early.
Wow, this thread is really active. Thank you guys so much for helping me with this.
I see, so basically UMich Ross = 4 years (At most 3.5) due to curriculum changes. UMich (W/o Ross) = 3 years (Since I have 30 AP credits)
I have got a tough decision to make haha. Thanks guys.
Ross starts in sophomore year.
My friend graduate in 3.5 years just this past week. If you have enough credits coming in, its possible.
If one gradated last week, he/she was under the previous curriculum when it WAS possible.
You spend the first two semesters (i.e., freshman year) in another unit, whether it is LSA, engineering, etc. Then you enroll in Ross for six semesters when given admission. The course sequence is very structured and inflexible. You won’t be able to graduate early.
