Ross Preferred admit 2020

What’s up guys? Congratulations to everyone who has gone blue so far! I myself got my result a few days ago, and am now eagerly anticipating the Ross pre-admit results. I wanted to start a chat with my fellow applicants.
If you’re looking for my credentials:
34 ACT (33 W, 34 M, 36 R, 33 S with a 27 essay)
97.9 GPA/ 100 with 10 AP courses taken.

My son is also awaiting pre-admit results from Ross. I wonder when we’ll get them (IF we get them!)
We’re OOS. 32 ACT, 3.9 unweighted GPA, 7 APs, great extracurriculars and teacher rec from a Mich alum

@vvsitalia That’s awesome, good luck to him.

Do we know when decisions will be released?

@ryang123 I think they release the first batch March 11

My son is also waiting, admitted to CoE, in state, 3.97 UW, 36 ACT, 8 APs, good ECs. He’d be 4th generation, (3rd generation for Ross) and admission to both would be an unbeatable combination for him and make it impossible to consider any other school. We keep telling him he would be crazy to miss the Harbaugh years, probably the best time to be a Michigan student - ever.

For kids admitted EA, their mid year grades are not a part of their app. Should they send them to Ross? Or do they not want them? Anyone know?

@TooOld4School Wow your son is insane, he’ll most likely get it, good luck to him.

@HRSMom , I think the mid year reports go to the regular admissions office. My son’s school sends them automatically , you should request them from your child’s school if they haven’t already done so. @kunchandak Thanks, we are crossing our fingers.

@HRSMom I haven’t sent my mid year report to Michigan because it is a little weaker than I would have liked.

Hm. I was just wondering bc I’m not sure admissions even uploads the reports from CA for students already admitted?

I was under the impression that the admissions office required mid-year reports even for admitted students. All colleges seem to want them.

We’ll be there Monday, I’ll ask. I’m not sure why admissions wants anything until final transcript once you are accepted.

As a Preadmit from 2019, who just finished midterms and is basking in some nostalgia here, good luck to you all!

Ross says if you upload mid year, they will pull them even if you were already admitted EA, so send nothing!

@Howiewu22 LOL that’s great man, when’d you get your result by?

They do it in waves starting in March. The latest I heard someone learning about it was right up until like the last week of April, although the dean of the business school said they’re trying to fix that for this year and get results out sooner

Admissions said some people will hear as late as June.

One more bit of news from Campus Day: they are expanding the program. In pre admit, they expect to admit nearly 400, with a yield of 120 or so. Overall, they said they were aiming for 580 for the first expanded class (2020). Pre admit: 17%. Regular admission: 47%. So don’t be discouraged if you don’t get pre. The odds are much better in regular!

@HRSMom , that is excellent news. I’m surprised that the Ross yield is so low though - 30% is lower than the general UM yield, you would think that the certainty of Ross admission would increase the yield.
