Ross vs Dartmouth

I'm really torn between these two schools. I was admitted to Dartmouth's Class of 2017 and was admitted to Ross's Preferred Admit program at UMich and I'm having trouble choosing between the two because each has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Ross has one of the best undergraduate business programs, but many say Dartmouth is a better feeder schools into Wall Street and M7 Business schools for an MBA. Please help me decide between the two. My goal is to get into a higher level management position or on to wall street, and ultimately I'd like to attend one of the M7 business schools such as HBS.

You really have to visit both schools to see which one is better for you. As far as environments are concerned, you could not pick 2 more different schools; Mich’s freshman class is larger than Dartmouth’s total undergrad population.

There are a lot of pluses/minuses to both schools from big sports at Michigan, to study abroad and the D-plan at Dartmouth. Both are excellent, but very different schools.

Is cost going to be a factor?

Since it will be 4 to 7 years until you get to IB/HBS, how are you looking to spend the next 4 years?

Cost shouldn’t be too much of a factor, I think my family can afford either with financial aid. I just want to know which one would be better for me educationally and better for my career. Personally, I think I’d be able to fit into any kind of social climate because I’m friendly and outgoing.

Then you should really go to admitted student days at both schools. Sit in on a couple of classes, talk to a few professors, meet your prospective classmates and a couple of upper classmen. See what you like best.

^ Syb, “meet your prospective classmates and a couple of upper class men.” Why do you think the OP should only meet upper class men? Is it a socio economic thing? Do you not value women’s opinions? Just kidding… I think it was a typo! It was good advice!
