I'm sort of torn. They both have great comparable academics. I just hope I'm not rushing my decision process. I'm deciding between Ross school of business at U of Michigan and the Stern school at NYU. I loved Michigan's campus and everything, but I'm from South Jersey and I just don't feel that I'd be comfortable being so far from home. But then I'm choosing this awesome university in the city, where I'll be living in a wonderfully dynamic town and everything. But coming from a small beach town predominantly white community, I'm sort of afraid of the adjustment...NYC is both exciting and daunting. Anyone have a similar experience or advice concerning college choice?

Purely anecdotal evidence and it may be flawed, but I don’t think the caliber of student at Stern is very strong. Many people I know who were accepted were not the rigorous or even very well accomplished students. If you were accepted to Ross preferred, I’d definitely go that route. The close-knit community of the undergrad Ross students outweights the massive size of the school, and they’ve got excellent recruiting as well. One of the people where I work was a Ross BBA, was able to get internships with Microsoft (they have a great bidding system to land interviews where you really want) and is an associate product manager there right out of college.
