Ross vs UChicago

Well, looking at the two schools, there are glaring differences. I have been on both campuses and really enjoy the feel of them. My personality allows me to enjoy both...for various reasons.

Anyhow, I am just wondering what people's opinions are regarding which school to attend and why

Ross. I am a PA and if you want to go into business its a no brainer. First of all you will get a better job from Ross then from Chicago econ in most cases. Second, looking at the college aspect, michigan is probably about 100x more fun. Honestly I can't see any pluses for the UChicago side other than the ranking of the university which holds no bearing as Chicago doesn't offer an undergraduate business degree.

Get a better job from Ross than from Chicago Econ? Are you saying Econ majors, no matter where they go, don't get as good jobs as Business majors?

Both are great schools. You can't go wrong with either. But if you are a preadmit, go to Michigan. Cost should also be a concern. If you're instate, its all about Michigan, but out of state, the price difference isn't that substantial.

Well, first off, money won't be a concern.

2nd off, if I went to Ross I would double major with Math at LSA....due to my credits etc I can still finish in 4 years with no overload. And I am not a PA...I would be a transfer.

UChicago has a program for Math w/spec in econ...that was the plus. And I intend to get a masters degree as well....recs from professors will have an impact...and "fun" I'd be okay at both places I think.

Any other opinions?

I picked Michigan (LSA) over Chicago with the intent to study Economics. I knew that Chicago was slightly better than Michigan in Econ, but at the same time, I knew that Michigan was as good as Chicago in overall academics. Your personality may allow you to enjoy both, but it will allow you to enjoy one more than the other. Go with that one!

Chicago is more than slightly better in Econ Alexandre. Just refer to your own post in the next thread.
How much do they pay you to say this stuff?

PS, I don't see a significant difference between #1 and #10.

I think what Alexandre says makes the most sense....guess it's time to plan an overnight...
